Telescope filters in different colors are suitable for observing different details of celestial bodies.
A red filter significantly increases image contrast and filters out a portion of the cyan light. It is particularly suitable for observing dark surface structures and the polar caps of Mars, as well as the cloud bands of Jupiter. Even during daytime observations, it can reduce scattered sky light; however, this makes the image somewhat darker.
A blue filter enhances high-altitude clouds, cloud bands, and atmospheric structures of planets more effectively. It is suitable for observing the cloud bands and the Great Red Spot on Jupiter, the cloud layers of Saturn, as well as brightness differences in the atmosphere of Venus.
A yellow filter enhances the contrast between orange-red areas and darker structures without significantly affecting the brightness of the image. It is suitable for observing dark structures on Mars as well as the cloud bands of Jupiter and Saturn.
A green filter enhances the contrast between reddish-brown and lighter areas. It is particularly well-suited for observing the cloud structures of Venus. Additionally, it can also be used for observing the cloud bands and the Great Red Spot on Jupiter, as well as details around the polar caps of Mars.
